HPE DL38X Gen10 Premium 6 SFF SAS/SATA + 2 NVMe or 8 SFF SAS/SATA Bay Kit HPE DL38X Gen10 Premium 8SFF HDD Bay provides support for up to 8 SAS/SATA SFF drives or a combination of 6 SAS/SATA and 2 NVMe drives in the same cage; and can be populated in all Boxes in the SFF model. To support 2 NVMe drives this will require the addition of the HPE DL38X Gen10 x8/x8/x8 1-port 2 NVMe SlimSAS Riser (867806-B21) or the HPE DL38X Gen10 2-port 4 NVMe SlimSAS Riser (867808-B21). Also note that NVMe drives require the addition of the High Performance Fan kit (867810-B21) if not already fitted. A minimum of a dual-port internal SAS Controller is necessary when adding each 8SFF HDD Bay, or multiple bays can be driven through dual SAS controller channels via a SAS Expander. A maximum of up to 30 SFF drives can be supported through a SAS Expander (3 x 8SFF bays, and 3 x 2SFF cages installed into primary, secondary, and tertiary risers)..
